Drop-Off

A cheerful good-bye and a hug and kiss are really helpful for your child to start the day off right. Please don’t be frustrated when your child is clinging to you. This is healthy and normal behavior. Just cheerfully say goodbye and leave. I try to quickly get them involved with other children or toys and have been very fortunate to rarely have any tears.

Feel free to call when you get to work to check on your child or whenever you need to check on your child. Rest assured I will call you if the need arises.

Remember that there is an open-door policy in place here. You can drop in at any time to see your child and how they are interacting, but  please remember that from around 1pm till 3pm it is quiet time. Some of my children will be napping and the rest will be observing quiet time in various ways. The excitement of guests during this time can really disrupt the children so please be considerate if needing to come at this time.

Pick-Up

You have had a long day at work. So have your children. They are eager to see you, and also eager to “show-off” a little. Sometimes children try to bend the rules a little, testing to see who is in control. This puts me in an awkward situation. I want your children to continue to respect my home and me, but at the same time you are the parent and ultimately in charge of your child. Please help your child follow the rules.

I do like to share information about your child's day, especially if we have had a particularly eventful day.

Alternates for Pick-Up

You, or people you designate, are the only people I can allow to pick up your child. If someone other than a parent is to pick the child up, please notify me ahead of time. A verbal notice is fine if the person is on the list of those authorized to pick up your child.

Children will not be released to any person that appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol or otherwise appears incapable of providing safe care of the child for safety/security reasons. Instead another authorized contact person from the child’s form will be contacted to come get the child and individual.
